Anniversary: time to take stock

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of St. Petersburg State Medical University, an essay is presented on the history of the emergence, development and achievements of the laboratory of “Medical and Social Problems in Pediatrics” of the Scientific Research Center (SIC) of the University. The scientific directions and research topics are listed. Attention is paid to cooperation with clinical and theoretical departments in the field of science and education, examination and consultation of patients at the clinical hospital. New directions of scientific research conducted in the laboratory of “Medical and Social Problems in Pediatrics” of the National Research Center are presented. Since 2018, the laboratory has published 1,191 papers in elibrary.ru, with a Hirsch index of 31, and has presented 522 reports at scientific forums. Under the supervision of V.P. Novikova, the laboratory staff has prepared and defended 3 PhD theses, and 1 doctoral thesis is currently being completed. 10 monographs and manuals for doctors have been published.
