Abstract

Introduction. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected millions of people, including pregnant women. After 5 years, various health changes are still being detected in those who have had this infection. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research not only to identify the long-term consequences of contact with a new coronavirus infection and further management of convalescents, but also to search for early markers of changes in organs and systems. The aimof our retrospective study was to evaluate the physical development and morphofunctional characteristics of the heart in children born to mothers who had suffered a new coronavirus infection at different stages of pregnancy.Materials and methods. The physical development, features of the structure and function of the heart of infants in the first year of life, related to the I and II health groups of breastfed children, whose mothers suffered from SARS-Co V-2 infection during pregnancy, were studied. The resultsof the data obtained indicate that contact with infection during the period of complete organogenesis of the cardiovascular system and timely treatment of mothers does not affect the further physical development and structural and functional state of the myocardium in children in the first year of life. However, there is a tendency to higher values of body weight gain in children in the study group.Conclusion.There are a huge number of publications on the effects of SARS-Co V-2 on the human body, but sometimes their data vary. Therefore, it is necessary to continue to conduct research in this direction.
